This Connect training is designed to help school crisis response teams understand the warning signs and risk factors of suicide, ways in which schools and communities can intervene, strategies for building support, how to create a plan for suicide prevention and postvention (what to do after a suicide occurs), and available resources.
Recommended members of a school crisis response team include school administrators, counselors, nurses,psychologists, resource officers, and other school personnel.
A nationally designated best practice program, Connect uses a socio-ecological model to help schools and communities develop comprehensive prevention programs and crisis plans based on best practice protocols, the National Strategy for Suicide Prevention, and NH’s State Suicide Prevention Plan.
Participants may bring breakfast and lunch or purchase food nearby. No refreshments are provided.
