This forum will provide an opportunity for local elementary school counselors to participate in professional development closely tied to the changing responsibilities of our job.  We are hoping
to bring together local school counselors to connect, learn, and share.  

This day-long event will include two parts:   

The morning is devoted to a presentation and discussion with Dr. Cassie Yackley,
renowned expert in the field of trauma and interventions with children,
regarding the role of the school counselor in creating a trauma-sensitive school. 

The afternoon will be a curriculum share, where we are asking all attendees to bring and
talk about a curriculum, program, or activity you have utilized and found successful and
to be willing to share this with the group for a few minutes.  This can be based on any topic
(i.e. self-regulation, relational aggression, resiliency, transitions, etc.) and with any
grouping (individual, small group, whole, group, whole school). 

Instead of having each of us out there, searching for what might work best,
let's help each other out by sharing what is already working!

Lunch is provided and there is no cost for attendance!
We will gladly accept donations for a local food pantry.

This forum can accommodate up to 40 participants.
Confirmation of attendance must be received by Friday, March 9th.
