School Based Interventions for Traumatized Students
Saturday, June 8th & Sunday, June 9th 9:00am-4:00pm
(1-hour independent lunch) 1 Credit
A blend of lecture and experiential learning, this course will provide an overview of PTSD and its neurological underpinnings, strategies for identifying traumatized students in schools, and a framework for developing appropriate interventions.
Presenter: Kelly McCann, Ph.D., RYT-200 NH Licensed Psychologist & Yoga Teacher
Adjunct Teaching Lecturer, Department of Counselor Education & School Psychology, PSU Owner of Space to Breathe, PLLC, a private practice in Littleton, NH providing outpatient psychotherapy to adolescents and adults and consultation and training to schools. Dr. McCann has specialized training in trauma-informed intervention including EMDR and IFS, and has expertise in developing yoga and meditation practices for traumatized individuals.
