FREE TRAINING AND CURRICULUM
Media Literacy for Safe and Healthy Choices
Through a statewide violence prevention initiative led by Governor Maggie Hassan, Media Power Youth has received a grant to implement violence prevention in schools statewide through media education. Please join us for a free media literacy curriculum training made possible through a grant from the NH Department of Justice with support from the NH Department of Education, US Attorney's Office, NH Pediatric Society, NH Association of School Principals and the NH School Counselors Association. Through this statewide initiative, Media Power Youth will provide evidence-based upper-elementary curricula and training (Grades 4, 5, 6) at no cost to upper elementary teachers and school professionals interested in implementing the program in their schools. The curriculum covers: media's influence on violence, aggression and bullying; tobacco and alcohol use and misuse; and the marketing of unhealthy foods to children. All educators completing training will receive professional development hours and a copy of thecurriculum. Lunch provided
